Die Challenge wurde aber derart gehypt, dass das eigentliche Ziel vergessen wurde. So schien es jedenfalls. – Denn sechs Jahre später zeigt sich: Die Eiswasser-Eimer haben es voll gebracht! Weil eben doch viel gespendet wurde, kamen mehr als 200 Millionen Dollar zusammen, die zur Erforschung neuer Medikamente genutzt wurden.
